Molecule Lookup⚗️💊

Draw a chemical structure below — or type a name (caffeine) or paste a SMILES, InChI or InChIKey, a CAS number (50-78-2) or an E number (E621) and it's drawn for you — and it's identified. (SMILES and InChI carry the structure, so they're decoded in the browser; a name or an InChIKey only points at one, so those need a PubChem lookup. E numbers point at one too, but the table that resolves them ships with the page, so they work offline — and a molecule that has one is labelled with it.) Its IUPAC name and identity come from PubChem — known compounds only, so an invented molecule won't get a name. Its formula, exact mass, InChIKey, isomeric SMILES and a clean 2-D depiction are computed right in your browser with RDKit (WebAssembly), so those still work for anything you draw. The 2-D depiction is posed with PubChem's own canonical coordinates where available, falling back to a locally computed layout (which is labelled as such). Editor: Ketcher.
